02The fine print, made less fine.
01 · How payment works
When a customer places a phone order, DialTone texts them a secure Stripe Checkout link. They pay the restaurant directly through Stripe Connect. Funds settle to your connected Stripe account on Stripe's normal payout schedule.
DialTone takes a small platform fee off the top of each card order — the percentage shown in your tier above. We never touch the money; Stripe handles the split at the moment of payment.
02 · What counts as a transaction
The transaction fee applies only to card orders placed through DialTone and successfully paid. Walk-in orders, phone orders paid in cash at pickup, and abandoned checkouts are not charged a transaction fee.
Reservations are not transactions and carry no per-booking fee — they're included in your subscription.
03 · Pilot program
The Pilot tier is a curated program for restaurants willing to give real feedback during v1.0. We're taking a small number of design-partner restaurants and working closely with each of them. You pay no subscription for 60 days; Stripe's standard processing fees and our 4% transaction fee still apply on card orders.
At day 61, pilots convert to Starter or Pro — or off DialTone entirely, no hard feelings. Pilot spots require a short application so we can make sure we're a mutual fit.
04 · Stripe fees
Card payments run on Stripe, which charges the restaurant their standard processing fees (currently 2.9% + $0.30 per successful charge in the US). Those fees are separate from DialTone's transaction fee and are billed directly by Stripe.
We never mark up Stripe's fees. What Stripe charges, you pay — nothing more.
05 · No-contract, cancel anytime
Starter and Pro are month-to-month. Cancel and you keep access through the end of the billing period. We do not lock restaurants into annual contracts, and we do not charge setup or onboarding fees.
Enterprise contracts are bespoke and may include annual terms and SLA commitments negotiated in the agreement.
06 · Prices may change
We're pre-launch. The numbers on this page reflect our current "starting at" rates for the first cohort of paying restaurants. Early customers who sign up during launch will be grandfathered at their original rate for at least twelve months, even if we adjust public pricing.
Material pricing changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance by email to billing contacts.
